Comfort food

So, what is a “comfort food”? This is the definition, thanks to Wikipedia!

“Comfort foods are familiar, simple foods that are usually home-cooked or eaten at informal restaurants. They are foods that are often emotionally significant to a person or group of people and are sometimes related to pleasant associations of childhood.

Comfort food is typically inexpensive, uncomplicated, and easy to prepare. Many people eat comfort food because it is generally easily digestible, is tasty and flavorful, or as a way to reward oneself.”

Soup is definitely a comfort food to me! Starbucks is as well, even though it’s not really “food”!

What about you? What are your comfort foods?

When I saw this post in my reader, it hit me right between the eyes. The Bible! It is food for our spirit and can be a comfort!

Comfort food for our stomach - chicken-n-dumplings.

I'd have to say grilled cheese sandwiches or spaghetti! Both of those are major comfort foods at our house!!
